Eipilepsy

Epilepsy can affect anyone at anytime. IEA works to promote the welfare and interests of people, and their family members, with epilepsy and to increase public awareness.

We endeavour to provide answers to the questions and concerns for the individual affected as well as family and friends. We wish improvement in the quality of life for people affected by epilepsy, and enabling individuals to reach their full potential within the community. Please feel free to contact us.

There is a lot to learn about epilepsy and seizures. It does not matter whether you have just been diagnosed or had it for over years together, gaining more knowledge on the subject can be very useful and help leading a better life. Here you will find a great deal of information about epilepsy and its effects on all aspects of life.

  • Epilepsy is NOT A DISEASE, it is not any kind of mental illness.

  • Epilepsy is not contagious.

  • Epilepsy does not affect a person's power of thinking or intelligence generally. In fact, history records the names of many famous individuals who reportedly had epilepsy.

    I must congratulate you for highlighting the subject of Epilepsy. I have come across a good number of people who were very energetic, intelligent but epileptic. I had to also protect from falling out of running train, an epileptic young man who had a bout of attack standing on the foot board of a Churchgate bound Mumbai local.

    Care has to be taken to train patients to estimate the bouts and take care to save physical harm.
